All of a kind

Posted by Picasa

Recently, when I decided to group all my stuffed animals and figurines of animals on one shelf in my studio, I had no idea that my Lucy was paying so much attention to my plan. She was!

The company of a cat

As I sit at my desk there is this window to one side of me.
Last year I got a carpeted shelf for my companion to watch the world go by.
Here she is, no doubt having spotted a bird in that luxurious tree.
She likes it and I love seeing her enjoyment.

Gifts for our studio mascot

I admit that I can take my wonderful cat for granted sometimes.
But my students never let me do that.
And so here you see her the week before Christmas with
her new toys courtesy of one student who loves her more than anyone!
Of course how to you measure love anyway?
You don't.
You just know it is.

Surveying the kingdom

Black, white and red all over.
An old joke applied to my Lucy.
She loves surveying her kingdom from the
screened-in porch!
Of course I have to wipe off the table before we have
dinner out there!

All kinds of students!

OK, so I have to admit that the painting on the easel is
not one of Lucy's. (Hers are still drying in the back room)
But after one of my students got up from her stool, Lucy
had to give her critique and check out the palette. She
didn't say anything, just looked and then got down.
She does this all the time. I know she's going to come
back in another life and be a dazzling prodigy with no
one the wiser (except me, because I'll be on the look-
out!)

Cats who supervise

Here you see my studio mascot intently watching one of my students at work.
When students arrive, she greets them all and then
supervises their creations.
Her usual mode is to sit ON top of their notebooks which lay open on my desk.
Occasionally she will jump up on one of their stools in front of their
drawing or painting.
I just know she's going to return in another life and be some hot shot artist
and only I will be the wiser!
